Introducing Nashville chiropractor, Dr. Jim Sweeney

Nashville Chiropractor, Dr. Jim Sweeney

Dr. Jim Sweeney, originally from Michigan, earned his Bachelors of Science in Exercise and Health Science from Alma College in Alma, Michigan and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. While there in San Jose, he completed his internship at City Team Ministry for mentally dysfunctional persons and Salvation Army’s Community Outreach Program.  He was also an active volunteer at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in San Jose.  An avid lover of sports and former collegiate athlete, Dr. Jim felt it only natural to complete his training as a certified fitness trainer;  And while at Palmer College of Chiropractic, he was member of the Sports Council, which participated in many of the athletic events throughout California.

Upon graduation, Dr. Sweeney chose to begin practicing Chiropractic in Tennessee, and landed in Knoxville, where he began practice with a large, well-known, group practice, specializing in sports injuries and rehabilitation.  As a member of this team of doctors, Dr. Jim was fortunate to participate hands on in many of the local health and sporting events throughout Knoxville, including team physician for the Knoxville Possums-- a semi-pro rugby team.

Dr. Sweeney’s practice focus is on everyone from children to the geriatric population to intense athletes. His main passion is to educate his patients about how to treat, prevent and overcome injuries. He came to Nashville to become one of the staff physicians at Batson Chiropractic & Wellness, which compliments his evidenced based approach that centers knowledge of injuries on current research through out the medical and chiropractic communities. Dr. Sweeney uses a variety of Chiropractic Techniques for treatments to restore proper function to the body. He also uses rehabilitation, exercise, nutrition, physiotherapy and kinesiology to properly treat his patient’s conditions.

Dr. Sweeney enjoys golf, disc golf, strength training, reading research, outdoors and chiropractic. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Tennessee Chiropractic Association, and Business Network International.  He remains close to his parents, whom reside in Michigan, and his younger brother who has recently graduated from Chiropractic College and is also pursuing a career as a Chiropractor in Nashville.  Dr. Jim is excited about getting to know you, and helping this office to do all it can to help you.

Dr. Frank Asks some important questions of interest to Nashville residents - Chiropractor Nashville Dr. Frank Asks...

How do most people deal with subluxations?
First, they try to ignore them. When they don't, they go to the medicine cabinet to stop their brain from feeling the symptom. Later, back surgery may be threatened. Sadly, it's not until this later stage that they consult our Nashville chiropractic office. Yet, even with the delay, most are delighted by the results produced by today's chiropractic care. Contact us and let's get started.
What's the purpose of a surgeon's mask?
When I ask most people in Nashville this, most think it protects the patient from the doctor's germs. But it's so porous it does little to prevent the passage of germs. We chiropractors don't bother with masks.
